16" Cresent wrench v.s. gun/knife
« on: December 21, 2003, 12:07:23 PM »
This goes back to before CC in Texas.  I had a friend who practiced throwing this tool, under-handed, against a mesquite tree until he was confident that he could hit a man in the crotch from 20 ft. every time.  He figured that an assailant holding a knife or pistol would feel secure that my friend would have to close on him to be a threat,  until it was too late!     He told me about that after I showed him the mouse gun that I had handy.

:-D

That would hurt for sure!

Goes back to the 21 foot rule they tought us at the academy.  If a man has a knife and is standing 21 feet away from you, he can rush you and stab you before you can draw and fire.

In this case... hit you in the family jewels without moving a foot closer

I am a forklift mechanic, work at the customers sight.  Quite often I putgood sized crowfoot prybar, 18" with a big wedge on the end, in a strategic spot while working in bad locations.  I also keep the hammer and another prybar in cirtan spots.  The van also gets parked in a good location, I like to only have to look one direction, for the most part.

Any heavy object, one that swings easily,is a better weapon than my fists.

A really good one is a geologists rock pick.  Picture a mason's hammer with the hammer head being backed with a spike, rather than a chisel point.  Ouch!

Things like that are the reason we no longer live
in caves and fear becoming sabre-Cat Droppings!

A hand with an opposable thumb can grasp WEAPONS!!!

My favorite was  Giant ball-bearing  I found on the railroad
tracks! A steel ball the size of a ping-pong ball can be thrown
with considerable force and accuracy!!!
