Best place to get a frame? Encore
« on: November 23, 2011, 09:55:24 AM »
I called my local gun shop and he said to find what I want and he'll order it for me. Before that I called bass pro and I spoke with a manager. He said that since s&w took over T/C they stopped production on the encore and will not be making more until spring of 2012......

So if I wanted to order the cheapest frame possible, looking for a blued standard version, where should I look? Used is definitely an option. My original frame is now dedicated to a barrel. So Im looking for an extra frame so I can keep plinking with all my other barrels.

Check out Ed's Tcs.  Great guy to deal with. Hard to get ahold of at times but well worth it when you do.

I wasn't aware that he sold frames too. I'll have to give him a call then after the holidays. Any ideas on what one should run me? I can't remember what I paid for mine.

Another vote for Ed.  He can also do a trigger job at a reasonable price for you too.   $40 I think.  I bought a new pro hunter with a 2.5 lb trigger, and he had the best deal that I could find.  Be patient with calling.

Thanks for the replies guys.  I at least have a price value to go off of.

Why are the stainless cheaper than the blued versions?!  I was going to go with blued to try to save some cash.

Ed has the best price and a large selection, the last one I bought was a blue pro hunter and it was 275.00 out the door but that may have been a show price. He will have the largest selection of barrels frames, stock sets, new and used same with barrels also has some TCR barrels. Great to deal with.
