:)  There are loads I like better, but an accurate one has always been IMR 4350 and 100 grain Serria flat base....with my current rifle it will cut one hole at 100 yards....RE 22 is good, and IMR4831 excellent...depending on your use of the rifle, this is where I would start.....

IMR 4350 works well, the 100gr Nosler BT works well. If you are hunting for deer or better. If you are after varmints or predators you need to looks at the 75 gr V-max, and H414 and IMR 4064. You can get 3600 fps and not really shoot hot loads.

here's one I ran onto...haven't tried it  but here it is.
12g shortie w/chokes,Tamer .410,12g "Buck" slug gun w/20g extra barrel, 12g smooth bore tracker I, 45/410 w/22vp matched set, 7mm-08, .308 20",

my avatar pic is my 1960 Rambler I bought in 1972 for $175..6 banger 3-on-the-tree...drove it for 5 yrs  22mpg.. was "hot-rodding" (LOL) one night...tore out 1st/reverse gear. Drove it that way for 2 yrs(with no reverse and only 2nd and high)  Had to really plan ahead when parking.
sold it for $125

Nosler 100 gr BT , BR-2 primers and 53 gr IMR 4831 . At 100 yards I get one ragged hole about 1/2 inch or so. This load has worked in several other guns. I load so the bolt will just close as the bullet touches the rifling. I tried the same load with partitions and best group was inch and a half. I have tried several other bullets over the years but none as accurate as the listed load. I shoot ground hogs and deer with that load with good results.

i am shooting the recommended load from noslers book,   49.0 gn imr 4350 pushing either a 115 b.t. or the 115 partition.   m.o.a. groups all day,   this loads has had perfect success out to 340 yds (measured with rangefinder) on white tail.   complete penetration,   top of heart and lung jelly.    i prefer the partition for hunting, but both work fine i suppose.  the b.t. may gain the upper hand in the accuracy department when the distance gets long though

been a long time since I shot any 25'06's, used to be my go to rifle though.  I got bored being tagged out on opening morning of deer season.  Biggest problem with a .25'06 I had was if I could see it, I could kill it.  I used to buy Remington core lokt bullets in bulk packs from midwayusa.com a near max load of 4831, or 4350 made 400 yard shots easy.  53 grains of 4350 made 3,250 fps, as did 55 grains of 4831, with the 100 grain bulk packed bullets.

Hornady 117 BT, 54.0 IMR 7828.  Also loaded some Barnes XLC's (you can't get them now since they will go thru a cops vest) on .270 brass.  Be aware that a .270 is longer, so needs to be trimmed.  They all shoot well enough for an old man.
