405 Winchester
« on: November 23, 2011, 07:24:39 PM »
I saw a reference to somone who had a Handi-rifle in 405 Winchester. Can anyone tell me...was that produced by H&R/NEF or was it some custom made job? Thanks much! :D

Tim (quickdtoo) has a 405. If I recall he had the work done by Wayne York. The 405 has never been offered from H&R.
You can send Tim a PM to find out the particulars.

WELCOME!!
Tim took a 38-55 BC and had it chambered and re bored to "Big Medicine" cartridge. Then more recently made it a octagon barrel. She turned out great and is one he is very proud of.

Here is Tim's beauty!!

I wonder if Tim has had a chance to take down a Lion or two with it yet?....Simba!
My culled down Handi's are the 45-70, and then I have a few others to keep it company...357 Mag/Max. .45 LC/.454 Casull Carbine, .243 Ultra, and 20 gauge Tracker II.

No lions, bears or even an elk yet, just lots of paper!!  ::) What they said, Wayne did the rebore and rechamber of the 38-55, I milled the barrel octagon and cut it to 23½" recently, but if I was gonna do one now, I'd check with JES, costs less and he does good work from my research.
