Hi All,
I have a SB2 frame that has a factory fit 20 ga Tracker II slug barrel. Couple of weeks ago I had a couple of FTFs so I replaced the hammer spring with a new Wolff Xtra power spring. FTFs are gone but a new problem arose. Shooting Remington 2.75" sluggers I pierced about 30% of the primers with the smaller f-pin of the SB2. Note that this problem may have existed before the hammer spring upgrade, just not sure. Since I now have a 3x9 scope on the gun I noticed a problem when my POI changed and traced it back to the rounds with the ventilated primers. The primer leak was bad enough to soot up the entire innards of the SB2.
I also reload sabots for this gun and have used both Fed 209 standard primers and Winchester 777 MZ primers w/o a single pierced primer and I have shot probably 10 times as many handloads as sluggers. My solution is to not buy any more sluggers, just thought I would give a heads up to others.

Why be difficult, when with a little extra effort you can be impossible?
