History repeats itself, not new but full circle for sure.....
« on: January 11, 2012, 09:57:39 AM »
First i want to say hello.  I had a hand pump pellet gun as a kid that was a blast to play with.  I also purchased a daisy bb gun when my kids were small growing up.  Right now  25+ years fast forward I just purchased a new pump crosman 177" pellet pistol again.  I took it outside and after a few shots i been bitten by the air powered guns all over again.  I ordered a P38 look a like CO2 BB pistol too.  I figure for target practice at home for the family and since everyone is just getting into shooting recently its a way for everyone to practice.  I just find it funny how we come full circle and history does repeat itself too.
Now in todays times its also a quiet way to put small game on the table if need be too.  Plus its cheap to shoot too with no loud bang for everyone to hear.  We can shoot squirrels and larger birds ect.                                                                      CZY

I know what you mean.  I shot my friend's Crosman multi-pump BB rifle when I was a kid, then bought my own pellet rifle when I was in college.  Have had an airgun ever since, they can do things your 30-06 can't.  Also did this with black powder, learned to shoot with a single shot rifled muzzleloader pistol.  Sold it, then years later got another one, one of my favorite shooters.

The old classics, they remain true over the years. :)

Our first pellet pump pistol the piston broke.  I fitted a sink faucet wahser into the tube.  This pistol the more we pumped it the more power it had.  My older brother took it to school back in the 50's and shot it thru a 2'' oak door.  On my new pump pistol they say to pump it ten times only.
