Conceal Carry Choices
« on: December 31, 2011, 03:44:53 PM »
This Forum is full of advice on what one should and shouldn't carry. In many ways that's a good thing such as issues with various firearms are discussed. Issues that can save folks the headache of finding out for themselves the hard way. However, bottom line is that we all carry the best firearm we can afford and that we like. If you don't like a firearm, be it mechanicly troublesome, too bulky to conceal, or too heavy, you simply aren't going to carry it! Doesn't do you much good then does it? Nope, we carry what we like and we all like differant things. If you have a firearm that you feel comfortable trusting your life to then I don't care who made it nor how much it cost. Congrats and I pray it serves you well. :)

Couldn't agree with you more Spirithawk.  Different strokes for different folks as they say.  As long as the individual is happy with their choice who are we to say it's the wrong choice for them.   We can offer suggestions based on our personal knowledge, experience and beliefs but we can't determine which CCW is right for someone else anymore than we could choose the right spouse for them.

You're absolutely right.  There's just so many variables - climate, environment (city/rural) body type, lifestyle, CCW laws in your area, etc. etc. etc.

I'm sure glad we have literally thousands of models/variations to choose from.  And it's always fun, and informative, to hear what (and why) others have chosen.

I will agree also. The advantage of having so many gun talk forums coupled with so many makes models out there causes us as a consumer not to make hasty gun purchases based merely on price or looks. The internet allows us to research the pro's and con's a of a firearm based on word of mouth. This also helps keep quality standards in check. The term " you get what you pay for " holds true about 90% there are those rare exceptions. Bersa is one that comes to mind to me when talking about that 10% Great shooter for the money.
