Another regulatory agency we need to abolish

I grew up, and some of you did on the forum, working on the family farm.My Dad was a cotton farmer. We did most of the work preparing and planting the cotton, and used local help with the weeding, and picking of the cotton. Some of the big farmers used temporary workers from Mexico to harvest. They worked and then returned to Mexico.

Today the regulations make it almost impossible for the family farm to operate.
Just another reason for the ever growing Illegal problem.

I feel over the years child protection has gone way overboard regarding labor laws. Farm kids have been the only ones that have been able to gain many skills and to learn responsibility. Now that may be threatened also. You can be pilot in command of a glider at 16 but cannot drive a PU for hire to deliver auto parts for example. What wrong with this picture? I feel these laws are largely responsible for us having an unskilled workforce and 18 year olds with poor work ethic because of lack of opportunity.

I couldn't agree more that massive cuts should--no, must be made in the federal government, but I'm not prepared to hold my breath until it happens.  I believe it would be easier to change the Constitution than to delete even one department of anything in state government, let alone the federal government.

I drove my 1st tractor  guiding it picking up bales of hay. My uncle would point the direction he wanted me to steer, I couldn't even reach the pedals. YEP, a useless agency. POWDERMAN.  >:( >:(

There are only two types of production; private ownership of the factors of production which is capitalism, or collective ownership of the factors of production which is socialism. A government that regulates the means of production is somewhere in between. This is an interventionist government and it is unsustainable. The reason that it is unsustainable is that intervention always leads to unintended consequences which must then be addressed with more intervention. It is a continuous process until no longer sustainable. It's result is a continued lower living standard and high unemployment. That is where we are folks.

Time for a revolution.

The sole purpose of government is to protect your liberty. The Constitution is not to restrict the people, but to restrict government.  Ron Paul

The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first. - Thomas Jefferson

On my commute to work I love seeing teenagers working the farm fields during the summer, just the way it should be. I would hate to see that come to an end because of unnecessary regulations.
