55gr ballistic tip for .243?
« on: January 12, 2003, 03:04:39 PM »
Does anyone have experience with the 55gr ballistic tips in .243/6mm with 1/10 twist rate?  How well do they stabilize?  I am currenlty getting 1/2 -3/4 in groups with the 70gr ballistic tips.  Thanks Chad 8)

I think answered your posting on this somewhere else.  They will stabilize, my M788 loves them. They are my go-to varmint load and all around fun load.  Mine likes 53 gr. of H380, but you have to have a drop tube or use a swirl technique to get all of the powder in the case.  I barely seat mine, I make the case as long as the magazine will allow.

I shoot em out of my Tikka 243.  1" or better is no problem.  I think they are fantastic . . . at least out to 100 yds since that is all the further I have shot them.
