Gallagher Blackhawk 45 ACP / 45 Colt

This one is a 45 combo that John put a S&W barrel, sights from Bowen on the rear, the front sight was cut for a Weigand interchangeable.  Bisley hammer.

The S&W ribbed barrels look pretty neat for one thing. On the practical side, one doesn't have to put as tall of a front sight or sight base on the gun. It provides for more sight base options. Can be used as a sight base by milling it out on top and pinning through the side. The rib adds some weight to the barrel for balance and help with muzzle flip like a underlug does. And did I mention, that it looks pretty neat?
In the picture is a couple of Bowen Single Sixes, one with a K-22 barrel on it. Complete with the original front sight........Not mine.

Thanks saddlebum!  That was my suspicion.  They do look cool done up that way.  Hmm, I have a Blackhawk that isn't behaving like it should and I've been wondering if a new barrel will fix it.  Now I have an interesting option, I wonder how hard it is to come up with a SS Smith barrel.

I think you can find barrels online. If you can, it would probably be cheeper than going through the gunsmith. Check with S&W. Or just call a gunsmith and see what he says.
 
BTW, Denny! Sorry if I'm stomping on your thread. Thats a great looking custom gun you have there!! Thanks for sharing! Let us know how it shoots if you get a chance.

You have a white grip on one side and wood on the other?  Looks like 2 different pistols?....
