800 service

We have a bunch of hand held radios that are programable. I think ( been a while) they work on the 800 band or service. We did not have a lic. We leased time on a tower as part of the service. Anyone know who still uses this type radio ? I have 30 or so , even base stations .

I wonder if a couple would work as an intercom at my cabin to the farm (1/2mi.)?

If they would it would be nice but I have found out the service is going away and the radios are useless . They have to have a tower no radio to radio service.

Oh well......us old 'recyclers' are getting pretty much left out nowdays, arent we........guess it is a 'Brave New World'...... ;)

We were going to use them for hunting since we were close enough to the tower , 38 miles. But they are ending so we went with family radio service .
