A timely word of advice..
« on: December 04, 2011, 12:22:25 AM »
Here's a man who got electrocuted while hanging Christmas lights.  http://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/Man-Electrocuted-While-Hanging-Christmas-Lights-134919723.html   While this man was killed by a power line, household 110v can do the same under certain circumstances.

I'm not an expert upon the subject but when I was involved with an emergency response unit years ago, we were shown a film which explained that common 110v line was plenty to kill a man if he was well grounded...such as standing in water.  It showed a man washing his Jeep, standing in 1/2 " of water and switching on a vacuum cleaner'''that was enough...
Some years ago, in an affluent community some 60 miles from my house a teenager was swimming in a pool when an overhead line carrying power for lights, dropped into the pool.  It killed that teenager and two friends who dove in to help him..
Remember, seemingly "every day" things can kill...and do it quickly.  Have happy (and safe) holidays..

Perhaps someone with more electrical expertise will comment..
If you don't want the truth, don't ask me.  If you want something sugar coated...go eat a donut !  (anon)
