colorado cow moose
« on: January 04, 2012, 05:10:05 AM »
Well, I am having my fill of colorado and putting in for tags here as a resident for possibly the last time. I have 5 preference points for moose and I think I am going to roll the dice on a cow moose. Better a cow than nothing at all. Anyone have any experience on cow moose draw in colorado? I know where a crapload of moose are, in fact, they're pretty easy to find in the north part of the state, but I havent heard a thing on the points to draw for one. I know for sure that it takes more than 10 preference points to get remotely considered for a bull, and even then you'll wait a while. I am going to eventually do a moose hunt up in canada in the next 5 years or so.

Thanks in advance. EJ

Come-on to Alaska.  We got lots of Moose.  Moose Season is in September, along with Caribou, and Grizzly.  But you have to have a guide for Grizzly, and Dall Sheep.(Dall Sheep and Caribou open 10 August).
Where is old Joe when we really need him?  Alaska Independence    Calling Illegal Immigrants "Undocumented Aliens" is like calling Drug Dealers "Unlicensed Pharmacists"
What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

I was actually up there in june of 2011, the guide that we had (billy) also works for a big game hunting guide in the fall and he said it still really isnt all that cheap. We were in soldotna so I guess around there, nothing's cheap. I'd love to hunt up there. Were trying to move to missouri (sell house, find job etc) so it might be a while before i'll have alaska moose money.
