I've read that both of these improve accuracy. The 28ga wad base is
certainly less expensive in the short term, and I wonder if both methods
actually do the same thing.
Cecil Epp of PR Bullets theorizes that the 209 primer has enough power to
push the bullet ahead prior to the total ignition of the powder, thus making
for less consistent burn time and less accuracy than can be realized with
the less powerful small rifle primer.
OK, would the 28ga wad base allow for a cushion adequate for a
consistent burn time prior to the bullet being pushed ahead somewhat,
resulting in more consistent burn times, thus more accuracy?
