Full length scope mount
« on: December 01, 2011, 08:02:17 AM »
Does anyone know of a full length scope rail for Contender barrels?  I would like to put a scout setup on a Super 14 barrel.  A mount that uses the 4 standard holes and goes all the way to the front sight holes is what I would want, any ideas?  Oh yeah, I will put a barrel extension to make legal length.   Colonelsanders

SSK has full length vent rib rails (T'SOB) for bull barrels.    Not sure if for other length's, but they do for 14" stainless barrels.

I have seen Mr. Jones' vent rib, not what I'm looking for.  It requires drilling and tapping more holes.  I can just get new holes drilled farther up the barrel for a standard base, just don't want more holes in it.  Colonelsanders

SSK uses more holes because they are aluminum bases.   Don't want the extra goles, then try Steve Stratton Custom, Huricane, UT.   He makes bases for TC's - bet he would make what you want blue steel or stainless that would use existing holes.   Won't be as secure for handcannon cartridges though without more support though.

You may want to try Ken Kight.
Not sure what he does for a 14 inch barrel.

That's a pretty impressive web site.  I think I would just be better off to have the barrel drilled and tapped for a scout mount with a standard base.  Thanks for the info guys.  Colonelsanders
