best scope mount for #3 carbine ?
« on: December 18, 2011, 01:23:56 PM »
Could anyone recommend the best scope base, rings (and scope) combination that would allow the most eye relief on a Ruger #3 carbine ?I have a #3 in .223 that I'm using Buehler mounts and the existing factory screw holes and cannot get the scope close enough to my eye. I appreciate any advice. Thanks.

I'm using Weaver bases and Leupold rings on mine.

Go with the Weaver bases and you can get offset rings to get your scope moved back a bit. I used the Weaver ext. rings on mine.
Check Brownells, I believe Ruger also makes a base for the No.3 and Ruger has offset rings to get the correct eye relief.
Hope this helps.
