The Fox Debate
« on: December 16, 2011, 04:01:52 AM »
I watched the whole thing and thought it was the best so far.

My brief impressions were:
It seemed that Ron Paul would be more comfortable running for President of Switzerland, or Sweden.  His trust in Iran is more than naive; it is untenable.  Other than that, he has some good thoughts.

Michele Bachmann is running against Newt.

Perry might make a decent Secretary of Defense.

Santorum--Vice Presidential.

Huntsman would make a decent Ambassador to China.  I know, I know.

Romney--Presidential.

Gingrich--Presidential.

So it seemed to me.

Magooch, agree with what you said. If Ron Paul thinks he'll talk that nut job out of a nuclear weapon in Iran, and not use it against Isreal, he's pretty naive. I missed the first 20 minute's of it. I would like to see more of Santorum. Although Gingrich and Romney sounded good, I know their track record, and am leary of those 2. And, Bachmann should have expounded more on what she would like to do, instead of trying to hammer Gingrich. Although she is right. gypsyman

I thought Ron Paul was rght on the money and you may have missed his point...

He really was not talking about talking Iran out of anything...he specifically said at this point there is NO proof that Iran has anything at all and remided us all that the same deal got us into a war in Iraq...nobody has ANY evidence of ANYTHING...

He is RIGHT....we need to stop running around getting into wars because of rumors and such things.  I agree with Ron Paul on everything...but you have to listen to him, and get the old ways out of our heads understand what he is saying.

Which is pretty much butt out of all this stuff...and stay out of constant wars for nothing, that gain nothing.

My opinion...

The nukes in Iran arguement is just the next "weapons of mass destruction" cry that gives the military industrial complex an emotional banner to wave to keep the indoctrinated roused up and distracted from reality

The real issue is the economy and the tax burden placed on the working people to continue subsidiseing a nontenable investment of "fixing the economy" by pumping the tax dollars into black holes created by:

ONE: the oil companies that have had our sons and daughters die to protect the oil companies investments in foriegn nations only to sell the oil on the world market without reguard for the lives and sweat and dollars that the citizens of this country have afforded them. The support of the taxpayers and soldiers of this counrty, is the only possible means for the oil companies to occupy those foriegn lands.

TWO; by the corporate  manufacturers of war materials , which includes the petrochemical industry. One of the largest single tax burdens.

THREE, unregulated banks, that subsidised the realestate bubblel,

To get the budget problem resolved as Ron Paul want's to do, get rid of the debt, it won't be as simple and painless as it sounds. Removeing the debt will come through a mass of bankruptcies and reorganizations. It will be another depression blood letting. There is no painless way to get the return to real relative values, price to earnings, accomplished.

Those that have trapped themselves in that inflation bubble will scream the loudest not to pop it but until we do, get rid of the debt, the middle class will continue to disappear and the youth of our country will have no future.
