Why the Move
« on: December 17, 2011, 06:23:22 AM »
Hay GB!!!!   This was a shock.   Granted it's your web site, and you have the right to do as you please.  But it was a shock when I logged off for thirty minutes then came back and it was not there.  Shock!!!!!!  It took a while to find.  A little warning would have done wonders.  Rog

How about a notice back there in the NEF areas to let people know where it moved to.
Where is old Joe when we really need him?  Alaska Independence    Calling Illegal Immigrants "Undocumented Aliens" is like calling Drug Dealers "Unlicensed Pharmacists"
What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

It long ago ceased to have any relavance to that section. It should have been moved here when I set this section up.

As I said some time back I'm making a bunch of changes to the site for the new year and this morning I've done a bunch of it. I've moved several forums to new spots within the same section they were in and moved others to different sections.

I've deleted some forums entirely and will be combining others as well in preparation for the new year. I'm trying to simply the line up and make it easier for folks to find forums.

In the handgun and rifle sections there will be some forums that get little traffic combined with others that also don't get much traffic.

GB,
Sounds like a good plan to me.  The site had become too big and cumbersome.  It was difficult to keep tabs on all the different forums. It also was confusing as to what forum a post on a particular subject belong in because there appeared to be so much overlapping.  It may take some time to get used to but I look forward to the new leaner, cleaner GBO.

As always, thanks for the great site and all the hard work you and Matt put into it.

Sure is. I try real hard to put posts where they belong but still had at least 4 threads moved this past week or so to off topic discussions, not as much traffic there and I saw nothing wrong with where I put em. POWDERMAN.  ::) ::)

"Off topic discussions"?  I thought that the Pot-bellied Stove forum was made up entirely of "Of Topic Discussions".   ???

The Stove and Off Topic appear to be similar. Do we need/want both and what qualifies one post for that one or the other?
