H&R Model 196 Eureka Sportsman
« on: December 21, 2011, 06:30:12 AM »
Merry Christmas to me!
Just picked up this Model 196 Eureka Sportsman. One of around 350 built.
Hand assembled at the factory for target competition.
Was considered by many to be the most accurate target revolver of it's day.
Will take a place of honor beside it's older brother, the Model 777 Ultra Sportsman.
Also a factory built competition target shooter.
Happy days!!

Thanks guys!
If I never buy another H&R, ( yeah, right! )  I can still be happy,.
I feel very fortunate to be the care taker of two of the most iconic H&R revolvers of all time. :)

Jim,
I've offered before, but...I'll offer again - send both to me for an extended examination and "shake-down."  I figure 6 or 7 months should do it! ::) ;D :) :o   Nice examples of scarce and scarcer H&Rs.
