Actually that isn't an out of the question price for one in this part of the country.

Yes it is a little on the high side, but like it says they are not produced anymore.

I paid around $290 out the door for mine and thought I got a pretty good deal.    It kills me when I see some of the prices a lot of folks on here pay for theirs locally.

My culled down Handi's are the 45-70, and then I have a few others to keep it company...357 Mag/Max. .45 LC/.454 Casull Carbine, .243 Ultra, and 20 gauge Tracker II.

This isn't one I'm hot for,
but if it were I would probably be interested despite the price.

I know I would appreciate a heads up on some of the hard to get ones that I am hot for.

It is a beautiful little rifle, crying shame it was discontinued. IMHO its the nicest looking factory H&R.

Its a little expensive, but is not readily avalible so if you want one, maybe time to bit the bullet and pony up...

I love mine and mine is now a 454 Cassull...

Yup, if H&R would have offered them at a bit more reasonable price, they would have sold much better which is why is was discontinued, I'm sure. CDNN sold over 300 of em for under $250 shipped!  ;D

If you think that's high, there's another guy in TX on the same site who wants $450 for a 45-70 Buff with no rear sight, only a scope.
Think as if you LIFE depends on it... IT does..!  Be Well...

IMHO prices above that are simpley sellers lurking the fringes of reality. Looking for the unknowing, people with more $$ than brains. OR people with more $$ than matters to them and they simply buy what ever they want reguardless of costs. There is a couple that sell (Or attempt to ) one GB and other firearm sites asking 4 digit numbers for handis...  ::)
To regular people like us its amusing to see the prices....

There is one in a local store that he's asking  $385 for.  I was excited to see it there, untill I saw the price.  It's been there since they came out and will be there a while longer I imagine.
