rechambering question
« on: December 24, 2011, 04:04:42 PM »
What caliber Handi Rifle would be best if i wanted to rechamber to .303 British?  I am not sure how much trouble it will be, but thinking about when I first started hunting and it would be nice to shoot that caliber again.

The only one that has the same bore size is the 7.62x39.

You would have to use the x39 but it is a very good canidate (303) for a enfield stubb job. Lots of surplus bbl availible. Kurt

The Brit would make for a dandy handi caliber!!

I agree, find a x39 barrel and rent the reamer... Post up pics and let us know how you make out!

CW, I was hoping not to be limited to one barrel, but I will start to watch the classifieds.  I already have two winter projects of my own and my BIL and his brother both have rifle projects they are waiting for me.  I am in no hurry and will find a barrel to use eventually.  Thanks for the replies and Merry Christmas.

A takeoff barrel form a bren gun would have enough meat on it to do the job & allow some recontouring.
Try to look unimportant.   Your enemy might be low on ammo.

Only Handi so far is a 375 JDJ.
