new model 70s

i was thinking about buying a new model 70. are these well built guns and are they accurate?

My .223 is a New Model 70. I acquired it many years ago when I had an FFL, one of my customers ordered the gun and they shipped me an Extra Grade by mistake.
 
I found the gun reasonably accurate with factory loads, but nothing impressive. I was ready to dispose of the rifle until as a last resort I started reloading for it...Wow, it went mundane to impressive.
 
It was the acquisition of this rifle that started me hunting varmints... 8)
 
This spring I will be trying a new scope out on this rifle.

 My next-door neighbor bought one of these in 308 from a local gunsmith, brand new.  He and I went to my club range prior to deer season to zero it.  I should have taken his targets to post here. His new Model 70 is a finely made rifle, and very accurate with a Leopold scope, practically right out of the box.  This particular short-action Model 70 featherweight had nice wood, fitted up properly, and if it came in a lefty version I'd have to strongly consider buying one for myself.  It's nice to see that kind of US craftsmanship coming out of the Winchester plant in the Carolina's.
