Son's Old topper Model 088
« on: January 15, 2012, 11:56:02 AM »
I saw Dave Canterbury on youtube  redo a H&R  got me thinking of doing up a "custom " tack job .    I haven't had much luck finding a project gun  .   I have a 20 ga. that belonged to my late son , it was bought used and was used a lot . It has been setting since 1997 . After thinking on it,  Eric was in Royal Rangers (Christian boy scouts) and was doing Frontier camping fellowship  which is camping frontier  style . I decided He would have liked a tacked stock gun so after sanding staining rubbing and drilling  here is what I have . Wife told my to start using it . so it is going back in  to use
I think he would have approved

Very well done Roy. I have also thought of doing some of that after seeing Dave's video. Kurt

Hey Roy:

That is really neat. I'm sure your son approves of it, and glad it's o.k. with your wife. It's so great to see a tight knit family. That little gun will always be very special to you.

I want to dress one of mine up that way, also. I am a history buff, and I have seen lots of pictures of the first Americans who had firearms dressed up like that.

Take care and all the best,

I like that a lot.
Been thinking of doing something like that to my Topper.
