S&W firing pin

A friend bought a new, unfired 460 S&W & the firing pin won't retract without giving it a good push with his finger, he still hasn't fired it, he's afraid the firing pin will bind up in the primer......send it back?

I would call the factory first and see what they say.
If it was damaged by dry firing empty then it may need some work.
They make snap caps for a reason.

I'm pretty sure he tinkered with it, although he didn't live fire it. His trigger felt quite light to me. Dry firing shouldn't have hurt anything but you never know, something isn't right. My competition guns have been dry fired thousands of times without any problems.

Call them and send it back. Clipped too much off the rebound spring? Who knows ....

I told him the best thing to do was send it back. S&W will send him a shipping label. I do think he tinkered with the springs.
Ken, how have you & Kay been, haven't heard from you in a while.

Dick,
Kay has been quite ill. I just got her home from the hospital a little while ago. PM sent.
