BF sighting"not mine" looking for input.
« on: January 04, 2013, 06:36:16 AM »
This account of a BF sighting/encouter was posted on another forum(it is not mine) I would like to hear others thoughts on it. Im not exactly sure what to make of it. Let me also say that I am skeptical of the existince of such creatures in the US(save for the Pacific NW maybe). We all know that the discovery of previously undocumented species or those thought to be long extinct does happen.
Let me also preface this account by saying that it was written by a 19 year old individual nearly 10 years after the encounter.

Well this is the short version of my sighting, my sighting was in July of 2009 at about 4:30 in the afternoon. I was walking out off the edge of my land and onto a friend's land just scouting for deer to pattern them for early deer season.
I was walking on the edge of a tree line near an open field. I was noticing that the forest was getting oddly quiet as I was walking further on and I looked up ahead to the trail and noticed a black figure moving in the woods toward to the trail. I was about a 100 yards away at this point, in the woods with all the trees blocking a clear look at it my first thought was "hey it my neighbor". At the time we were not good friends, but I was always trying to talk to make friends. So, I continued on the trail toward the the creature's direction of travel to intersect what at the time was my neighbor. After I got about 150 feet away I could tell that something was odd, but I kept walking to about 125 to 100 feet away when it cleared the trees and brush, I saw that this was not my neighbor !! When it cleared the brush I froze in place and saw this large black Sasquatch standing at the edge of the trail. It had a dead fawn on its arm looking at the ground almost like it was looking for something. At the second I realized what I was looking at, it felt like someone grabbed my insides and ripped them down into my pelvis or that my guts turned to lead and dropped from their place. (gross I know but that is the best way I can put it) .

It was not looking at me at all, I am pretty sure it had no idea at this point that I was there. I watched it look at the trail right in front of it, facing to my right for about 5 seconds. Then it must have noticed me out the corner if it eye almost like it did a double take. It turned its whole body and stared right at me. The moment our eyes locked I felt shear fear over run me and I felt like I was about to drop to my knees. We stared for what felt like an hour but it was like only 10 seconds. After 8 to 10 seconds of staring at each other with the same shock expression it dropped eye contact and scrunched it face up, kind of like a disgusted old man and tightened it's body up. Then just dropped it arm and released the carcass of the fawn and in one sweeping turning step, turned away. It took several more steps (like a U-turn) and went on a new path right next to the the path it made on the way to the trail through the willow brush like it was grass.

The way it moved was fluid and smooth, like a gliding motion. Each step was so deliberate and decided. But after just a few seconds it was out of site but I could hear the creature walking turn to a faster pace like a fast walk, then running. Even though it was gone I was still so afraid that I could not move for several minutes. I just stood there shaking. After a few minutes I was able to move then I bolted for the house, I never ran that fast in my whole life.

I got back to the house and told my cousin and my mom to come with me back there. I put 5 bullets in the mag and 1 in the chamber my rifle. We got back to the spot and I started shaking again and clenching my rifle. We walked over to the area where it came to the trail and left. I saw that the trail in there was almost no trace except for a set of depressions about 12 inches long and 6 inches wide. Each track was a little over three feet apart, but no damage to the weeds and forest floor. After the trail was looked at we looked at the dead fawn. All the meat from the last few ribs down was gone but from the front legs up it had all of that meat still on it. The hide peeled from the hind end had been rolled like a sleeping bag up to the front shoulder. The skull of the fawn at the center of the top of the skull was crushed like someone took a big wide hammer and hit it. It had punched the bone into the brain but the skin was not punched all the way through, it just had a few gashes on the skin. It later occurred to me that there was a large rock pile less than 100 yards away and I now think that this creature had seen the fawn in the area, saw the rock pile, then put 2 and 2 together. As for the trail out, it looked like someone drove a small go cart through the willow brush and just created a tunnel through it crushing everything in its path. We looked for prints but everything was so tore up, we could not find anything but several depressions.

The Bigfoot itself looked very lean like and pro athlete. Even with the hair you could see every muscle on it's body. The hair over its body was mostly jet black with slit hints of brown tones where the hair was thinner. The hair over most of its head and body was about 3 to 3 and half inches long, but the hair at the top of the back and shoulders and on the forearms was about an inch to 2 inches longer. The hair near the top of its hips an mid section was about 2 to 2 1/2 inches. It was definitely a male about 6 foot 3 to 6 foot 5. It's body was like a large lean body builder with a V taper from the upper body down to the waist. The arms where long and down to it knees, the legs looked super powerful and the upper thigh was a little longer than the lower leg . The head was slightly coned but not much, the face had a heavy brow ridge high and strong cheek bones. The nose looked human but a little flatter than a normal humans nose and wider. The mouth was wide and the lips where structured like a human but thinner. The hair on the head went all the way down to about an inch from the brow ridge and ended in a slit widow's peak. The jaw was strong and thick all the way to the chin, but the chin did not stick out past the lips. The eyes where hard to make out but when we stared I could tell the eyes where large, but I could not see whites.

For about three months I did not go out to the woods and for several more weeks. I did not go outside at night if I could help it. I had trouble sleeping for weeks and only got to sleep when I pulled my bed away from the windows to the other wall near the door. But as time went on, my fear turned to fascination and I read and learned as much as I could. I stepped into field research and found my passion. I have lost all fear for these creatures but I still respect them and their way of life. My goal is to observe, learn and document them. Since my first encounter I have had many more odd encounters and findings doing my field research and that is pretty much how it all started.

Yooper: I've read that sighting report before, just can't remember where. What that person describes is exactly what a grown male looks like. The way the fawn was killed is fairly typical. The skinning is also typical. The fact that the male ate part of the meat and was carrying the rest with him simply means he had a family to feed. They are like nearly all other primates; they live in family groups.

If you will e-mail me the source of that report, I may be able to tell you more about that particular sighting.

I'm a skeptic, but, I really, really, wish that there were such a thing.  it would make a woods walk exciting.
I guess anything's possible.

Bugeye: You can take it to the bank; Bigfoot do exist. They are not shape-shifting, supernatural beings; they are simply a type of primate that is nearly human, but not quite. Anyone who has interacted with them for a while knows this. Anyone who has not seen or interacted with them simply does not know, and has no basis or reason to believe they do, or do not, exist.

There is now unpublished scientific evidence that they do exist. When science finally publishes the findings, the OTHER shoes will drop.

  Can you elaborate on this?

Specklebelly: Do a web search for "bigfoot dna analysis" and "oxford university bigfoot dna".

Tal_branco, I followed up on your suggestion about the DNA search. Interesting to say the least. I am interested in something like this from the scientific community.

Actually their is a biblical reference, in genesis that does support the theory of human & whatever the " sons of God " are. Lot of debate over that since it defies convential religious thinking. But anyway they produced children and the following verses states that then there were "giants in the land".
KJV.

Pastorp: Glad you had the time and patience to read some of the coverage. When you have a little mor time, do a search for "giant human bodies unearthed in the USA". (Hope the "search" pulls them all up, or links you to them all.) Fasinating to say the least.
