The one on top is my favorite.  Those are two happy pups.  What are you using for a camera?  I still have trouble with stop action like this.  Using a tripod or just freehand.  Wish I could get a handle on it.

I doubt you could do that with a tripod. Those were with a Nikon D5000 with a Nikon 55-300 lens. I got a ways out on the course at the take off line, maybe 20 yds. Shot at the release at 300mm and zoomed down quickly to get the other. Seldom get time for a second shot and they are gone by you. In that photo I was taking the back dog and the other came out of nowhere from my left. I was kneeling down behind a clump of sage brush and really caught off guard. I went over backwards and both dog's landed right next to me. I'd do it again for a shot like that. As I recall, I was shooting about f8 as fast as the shutter would go. ISO was set way up also. I have it on my external hard drive just what it was.

Took a bit to get a handle on it. I was trying to learn on flying birds, they are a lot harder for me. Dogs came pretty easy. Just positioned myself where I could get a ghood shot at the release and back far enough to zoom down for a second shot. Need a fairly small appature and a fast shutter to stop the movement. Always the photo come out a bit after I decide to shoot.
