oil in the USA
« on: December 31, 2011, 04:52:05 AM »
one of the biggest drags on our economy is the cost of gas.  after hearing all the talk about we've got 100 years supply in or around the USA. i am starting to think all that is a big lie just to keep the  cartels at bay with their prices. now the feds raised them tax 4 cents a gallon---did you know that????

They will refine enough here to keep us in demand mode. They will drill here when the pipelines are ready to get the oil to export ports for the world market.

As long as we operate under WTO, NAFTA and GATT agreements the US consumer will never be protected and US industries will have to compete for fuel and oil at word market prices.

World market, this is what our congress has legislated that United States sons and daughters die for, competition in the world market. ear

This large supply of oil is not a ruse. But, it is expensive to extract. A couple years ago I remember hearing that prices needed to exceed $70 ish a barrel. When the prices dropped the oil field workers left the Bakken area. Which leads me to believe in the validity of the info. When oil went up they returned. It is no secret, if I know then anyone knows.

The trick is to keep supply at the threshold of alternative energy costs. Thus the instability, riding on the edge of a razor.

We will never ever run out of oil ( yes I said that, NEVER ). What we will run out of is cheap oil. At some point the cost will exceed what the alternative costs. Then and only then will we move away from oil. The alternative fuel cheerleaders want to legislate themselves a HUGE financial windfall. Do not kid yourselves, if it were profitable you could not keep the technology suppressed you could not stop the demand for this "better" fuel.

When in the history of man was a fuel replaced with one that was more expensive, and more inconvenient?

We have hugh proven oil fields here in Alaska.  ANWR is loaded with oil, far more than reported.  But the Greenies don't want us drilling there, so Congress keeps it off limits.  NPR, has oil, again the Feds are blocking the removal of this oil, and piping it to the collecting point for the Alaska Oil Pipeline.  All of this oil is not off shore, no problem drilling, just need to get permits.  Oil from ANWR can be in the pipe three years after getting the go ahead to drill.  There is lots of oil in the shallow coastal shelf, along Alaska's northern coast.  Shell was poised to start drilling.  Drill rig in place, workers moving to the rig, material already transported to the site.  EPA pulled the permit, stopped all drilling, saying the smoke from the electrical generation unit might affect a village 250 miles away on shore.  The permit was released one month later, too late to drill this summer, now they have to wait for the summer of 2012.

Off shore they drill during the summer, with a small window to work in.    On shore drilling is done during the winter, with a much wider window for work.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.
