Updated today at 2:05 PM PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) — Officials say evidence from a suspicious fire that gutted a Florida Panhandle abortion clinic has been sent to a state laboratory for analysis.
Pensacola's Fire Prevention Bureau says state and city fire marshals are investigating the fire early Sunday at American Family Planning. No one was injured.
Police Chief Chip Simmons tells the Pensacola News Journal that he spoke Monday with a local FBI official about the fire (

The clinic pays for off-duty Pensacola police officers to provide security. Simmons said he did not know of any recent complaints about criminal activity there.
The clinic was bombed in 1984. In 1994, a doctor and a volunteer who escorted patients were shot to death as they arrived.
