BLC2 for varmint calibers?

how many are using BLC2 for 204,22-250, 223 and your experience with them, trying to keep my powder inventory down, and thinking about this powder for varmiting

There are so many powder choices available that many will work in the cartridges you mention, and I don't want to imply that what I have used is superior to some others on the market.  Having said that, I have used H4895 with much success in the 204 and 22/250.  It gives very good accuracy and velocity that these cartridges are known for.   H4895 is very temp stable but it is a stick powder and therefore isn't the most favorable for running through a thrower, especially if loading with an auto-progressive press.  My friend tried BLC-2 in his 223rem and it just didn't give very good accuracy at all.  He then tried some Benchmark and it is his powder of choice in that cartridge because the accuracy is phenomenal and it runs through the thrower on his Hornady L-N-L like water through a pipe.  If Benchmark would work in the two previously mentioned cartridges, I can't even guess.  I hope this helps.

in those cartridges i have had very good luck with varget. it would be worth a try

+1 on Varget.  BLC2 seems "dirtier" to me.

I've shot a lot of BLC2 in several .223s with 12 and 14" twists with 55 gr bullets.  Gave excellent sub moa accuracy in all.

BLC2 works great in the 225 Winchester so it should do good in the 22-250 also I would think.

I just can't get BLC2 to shoot as accurately in .223 and 22-250 as Varget does with any bullet weight. Wish I could as the BLC2 meters better than Varget.

I have used BL-C2 in my 223 with good results.   I shoot a Ruger #1 w a 24 inch barrel that isn't especially accurate  (.6 -.7" is its best group), 10 inch twist.  I don't know that its the best powder, I like the 4895s a lot too, but when I bought it, the BL-C2 was much cheaper and I liked that a lot. Its quite close to ww748 I think. I think it does tend to be a bit dirty and takes some vigorous cleaning. As a ball powder, its my understanding that it can be a lot more stable for long term storage.

havent loaded for my 204 yet still still waiting on the dies, but did go out and shoot the 223 today, the blc2 was dirty but groped about 1" at 250, with nosler BT, compared to 2" with the varget, might try H4895 next weekend and some 3031 i just know my handi will shoot better

I've used 748 with the same results as BLC2. Varget just does better.

I haven't had any luck with BLC-2 at all in my 223s.  I have a rem bolt with a 1in12 twist and 2 bushys with 1in9 twists.  I'm using W748 in the bolt gun with various bullet weights.  I'm still searching for an accurate 69grHPBT load for my bushy Natl Match....BLC-2 didn't do it.  RL15 wasn't bad, W760...nope....trying Varget now.
 
BTW...used up the rest of my BLC-2 to break in my 35whelen.....the muzzle blast was wild.

H4895 is a winner in my 1-9 bull brl Handi with Nosler 55grn BT. Velocities in the 3400 range.
Varget in the 1-12
And Benchmark with the lighter 36-40grns in the 1-12
