Perry may have endorced Al Gore years ago when ALL southerners were Democrats.  After Reagan, MOST conservative Southern Democrats changed to the Republican party. Perry as well as both Alabama senators were once Democrats.  We in the south had Conservative and Liberal Democrats to choose from.  Then after Reagan, the conservatives realised the Democratic party was being taken over by communists, socialists, environmentalists, homosexuals, womens libers, the NAACP, and unions.  A hodge podge of far left wacos.  Republicans include moderats as well as conservatives and are more pragmatic and more able to get realistic things accomplished.  Problem is they sometimes want to compromise with the wacos.  Not perfect, but better than the democrats.

  I believe that anyone who is conservative and spends time trying to tear down any of the conservative candidates, is only doing BHO a big favor and helping to give him easy sailing in 2012..

Problem is;  3 years ago voters were warned he would break the economy .....

Here is a good example of (1) cognitive dissonance; (2) selective reasoning; (3) myopic mindset; and (4) plain ol' ignoring facts.  It's a common mental illness among Republicans who claim GWB left the country in fine shape, and all the economy needed was one more tax cut for the wealthy.

 The economy was fine, then the Democrats took over Congress in 2006 and you obviously don't know that Congress does the spending. It should also be pointed out that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, both government enterprises, had a big part in creating the 2008 recession. In 2003 president Bush asked for a regulatory overhaul, but he was blocked by Congressional Democrats who feared it would mean less money going to low income, high risk borrowers.

Not to quibble Sixgun, but the Dumycrats took over control of Congress in 2007; the election was in 2006.  Anyway, your premise is absolutely correct.  Of course in the never-take-responsibility Dumycrat revisionist parlance--George Bush did it.
