Wanting a 45APC what the best Ruger or Glock
« on: January 08, 2004, 01:14:56 PM »
I'm wanting to get a 45 apc I will be using  it for plinking and a carry gun I now carry a GP100 with a 4"barrel. I like the P97 but it is between the P97 and a Glock either the 30 or the 36. Has anyone here had both Glock and Rugers in the 45 cal.?? If so how would you rate them???? The one reason I was thinking of the Glock is I like a ghost sight and you can get them for the Glock but I can't find them for the P97 but then I like the Ruger decock better then the Glock double trigger How do you compare the two 45s???????? Thanks Chuck

Over the two mentioned, I prefer the Colt 1911.

I've tried a lot of the D/A pistols, including Glocks and Rugers, and I've always come back to either a 1911 or Browning Hi Power.

Of all of the D/A's, the H&K is my preference, with the CZ models second.

I've got a Glock 21 - it's great. Feeds everything flawlessly - even 255 gr SWC 45 LC bullets that I loaded in 45 ACP cases for bowling pin matches. I have a Ruger P91 in 9mm - also a great gun, just a little bit more bulky. Try to get to a gun show or shop and handle them both - that will probably make up your mind for you. Even better, look for a range in your area that rents handguns, and shoot them both.
