previous holes are from a .410 #6 shot.
I fired 1 shot with the shotty, then transitioned to sidearm, 3 rounds.
The screwed-up part of this shoot , though, was I was trying for a Mozambique drill. I fired off that 3rd shot too quickly after the 1st two, and didnt raise the aim high enough. lol
But- I
liked the group I
DID get lol. Im inclined to think that group would have put the BG down plenty well enough.
But I've been practicing like mad of late. And I've deliberately been reducing my target sizes-at all ranges/distances- to playing-card size targets. My personal goal being 2-3 rounds into a playing card -sized target at any range from 3m to 25m, rapid-fire, while moving when possible.
I figure, if I can condition myself to make consistent hits on a target area that size, all other things being equal, then I should be good-to-go for most encounters.
My theory being- that if I use standard-size targets most of the time, I may get lazy, and begin to accept a nice group, even if it's X amount of inches from center, etc. The big sheet this one was fired at though, was for the shotty pattern- i wanted to see what pattern it would get at the most likely extreme distance I would use it in my area. This way sort of forces me to concentrate on firing accurately at the smallest reasonable target point.
I've been doing this with BBs on up to my .45, and it's beginning to show a great result for me. Builds a heck of a lot of confidence too lol.
The other half of why I did what I did there, was for a post on another forum. Where some yahoos were laying out the myth that DA to SA transitions during firing a .45 destroys accuracy and controllability with a "high recoil"

round like the .45 (
this, of course, was espoused by pro-9mm types
in a 9mm vs .45 debate..) I wanted to demonstrate that, with practice, this is anything BUT true. I really DONT notice the DA pull of my .45, and it does not effect my shooting, in the least. The recoil from the 845 is very nice, actually- very smooth push , rather than the usual muzzle-flip of some other types.
