Pine cone belt knife
« on: February 26, 2012, 02:04:11 PM »
One of  the more interesting knife making websites I've stumbled across recently is ankromexotics.com.  He using a number of really interesting materials which he casts into Armalite resin.  In this case it's a Norwegian spruce pine cone with the resin dyed copper.  Makes for a really interesting pattern when you grind it.
The knife itself has a 5 inch blade of 3/32 inch CPM154CM stainless.  Trim is copper. I've two other sets of pine cone scales, one in blue and one in silver, for the series of  three I'm making.

I really like the mosaics with the pinecone scales, and the copper!

I'm finishing up my last piece of Aldos 1095, with Koa scales; a gift for my son. I've only made 10 "from scratch" but I sure do enjoy it. Very nice work!

Now that is nice Joel. I like everything about it. If it comes with a quality sheath it would be a great knife in every way. Right shape, size, blade thickness, and handle is unique.   ;D
