Mossberg 810
« on: January 20, 2012, 07:21:53 AM »
I recently acquired a Mossberg 810 in 30-06.  Overall the gun is in good condition.  I plan on refinishing the stock which is in good shape except for scratches in the finish.  It looks like the bolt lever may have been rewelded at some point in time.  The metal polishing in this area leaves something to be desired and the blueing is gone, fortunately there is no rust.  I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions on how to polish out the scratches and if a cold blue would be ok or if I should look for a locksmith to hot blue the bolt handle.  From what I have been able to read about these guns they are well made so I am looking forward to taking it out and putting some rounds down range.   Thanks in advance for the assistance. :)
Why is there never enough time to do it right but there is always enough time to do it again?
