I have a collection of "OLD"
hunting magazines & books and there
is actually a reference to a .17 caliber rimfire
that High Standards parent company created
in the 1940's. It was a Long rifle necked down.
I wish there would have been a picture or something.
Looks like Hornady & Aguila are a little late.

There have been lots of prototype cartridges that companies have made and then never manufactured. Maybe this was one of them. I have read articles in gun mags about items that were supposed to come out (guns and ammunition) but never made it out of the factory. Jim

I sure wish some of the Ideas would have caught on
and made it to production! I have some proto-type
cartridges in my collection, and I really can't
understand why some did not make it!
