Selling out, moving north
« on: May 01, 2004, 12:10:40 PM »
The wife and I decided that we are selling our home south of Cooperstown and moving to the Adirondacks. We will be looking for a place between Keeseville and Tupper Lake and points in between. We've been putting up with our new (2+yrs.) neighbors who are no more than druggie/wacko/woodchucks. Used to be nice before they moved in and since there has been nothing but problems. They are only 75' away from our home. As an ex-cop you can trust me when I say these people are dirtbags. We've always loved it up there and since I'm retired it's time to go. Keep us in prayer and we will be sure to get an internet hook-up to stay in touch when we move. (The sooner the better!)

Good luck, Qtip, the adks are beautiful.  Save some room for some of us who have not retired yet.  I have got another 13 years before my half pay pension kicks in :)  and I can build me a cabin in the woods.
Praise the Lord, and pass the ammunition!

Good luck up there in the North. I too have about 13 yrs before retirement. And am planning the same thing. Live in a small rural town in Tioga County northwest of Binghamton right now. Use to be a nice place to live but with the economy of the Southern Tier it is getting worse and worse. We are getting to be known as the Meth lab capital of the state. Tired of it. Maybe I just don't like people anymore. Any way I wish you luck and hopefully I will be able to find a little patch up there in the future.

I'm sorry to hear of your problems with the Neighbor. You deserve better in your new home.
I look at good Neighbors as a gift from God.No amount of money can guarentee them.Upper class neighborhoods also have bad Neighbors.
I've been very lucky.I live in a city that is always near the top of the list of lousey places to live. I lived here 60 years,in 4 different neighborhoods, and never had a problem with Neighbors.
I do have concerns about the 'Critters'that wander in from other neighborhoods, and every neighborhood has at least one 'Oddball',but I can't recall any really bad Neighbor.
