What level of accuracy do you think is very good, but realistic out of this rifle? Can a lever action compete with a single shot "handi" rifle?

The lever action is inherently a bit less accurate than  a tight single shot.  My buddy has a new Mossberg 464 and with a scope it'll do about 1.5" at 100 yards.  Most factory stuff will print about 3" at 100 yards.  My 1926 32 Special will shoot about 6" group at 100 yards, but I'm still playin with bullets for it.  I haven't had a chance to truly accuracy test my 1881 40-60 Marlin, so we'll see what that does.  I believe I've read that the most accurate lever gun will be the Browning due to it's locking bolt design.  This is what limits most lever guns accuracy is inconsistent lock-up and therefore headspace.  A single shot break action is not inherently as accurate perhaps as a bolt gun, but they are pretty close at realistic ranges.  If you get into really long range over about 400 yards, I think the bolt will begin to outshine the break action.  Lever guns were by default working guns and repeaters to get more shots off during the times they were developed.  I am hoping to do some BPCR with the old marlin, so pretty soon I'll find out what it can do.  ;)

Realistically I believe it will shoot 2 inches at 100yds with a scope.  With factory irons it would be a 4 to 5 inch rifle for me, with a good peep/tang sight it will be closer to shooting with a scope.  I have never shot my 45colt trapper for groups but with a 1.5-4.5 power shotgun scope, 6 inch gongs at 200yds is not a problem.
