Passing of a generation
« on: January 23, 2004, 03:48:49 AM »
My Dad died last Tuesday, peacefully at age 82.  He is now home with the Lord getting all of his questions answered.  Probably no one here had ever heard of him, not into guns but a great shot and hunter and a farmer for most of his life, in Maine and Virginia.  Lauriston Getchell Smith will be missed.

We (LOML and I) are now the oldest generation in both of our families.

The Shrink,  My prayers will be with you and your family.

When the Lord takes His own home, it leaves a real void in our lives.  Perhaps it is a gift from God so that we look forward to our going home and are a little less attached to this world . . . being that this world is not our home "we are aliens and strangers".
