Ship Cannon
« on: February 12, 2012, 12:30:40 PM »
Made this from a piece of 1018, 50 cal, Scaled it the way it went on the lathe by feel, Axle are stainless- steel 316, wheel are amco brass, wood is pattern wood- birch, used linseed oil for finish, I dont like the way I mounted to brass to the top, will do later with something that looks right.
What style did it come out to, Thanks-Joe

It almost looks like it could be a stylized single banded Brooke. I hope the crew doesn't have to remove the capsquares in a hurry though.  ;D

Nice little cannon, though I wouldn't mind having the scope in the one photo......
Mr president I do not cling to either my gun or my Bible.... my gun is holstered on my side so I may carry my Bible and quote from it!
