Got this off the local Republican Party web site:

Nevada Irony - rich vs unemployed   Since the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that businesses, individuals and corporations could donate unlimited amounts of money to "Super Pacs" (poliltical action committees),  a cruel irony in rich-versus-poor is occuring in Nevada.  The state of Nevada has the highest unemployment rate in the nation (12.6% in December 2011).  Meanwhile Nevada b[font=]illionaire casino magnate Sheldon Adelson cut a $5-million check to the Super PAC supporting Newt Gingrich's campaign as a "last act of loyalty" to an old friend. This week, to add to the rich vs unemployed disparity, Adelson's wife donated another $5 million to Newt's campaign.   Newt, of course, claims to know nothing about all of this because the high court decision ruled that the PACs must be independent of the candidate.[/color][/font][/size][/font]

Where is the irony? The wealthy have always had more influence over the political process than the poor.
