Wish they made ....
« on: March 24, 2012, 04:53:11 PM »
I really like Ruger Single Action revolvers.....I have a Blackhawk 357 50th and a Vaquero 45acp..

I'm really not a Cowboy shooter. or anything like that..i just like the dependability and the simplicity of Ruger SA's

I wish Ruger made a Polymer Single action..maybe with HI-Viz sights..3.75 to 5.5  inch barrels ..

I think they would make great packing guns  ,guns that would be lighter ,and less expensive that the steel models...

Guns that would ans could be used while working on the farm....or a good Hawg hunting firearm...
A fellow wouldn't have to worry bout marring up a Steel Framed Single action

polymer guns are no cheaper then steal guns. Go and buy yourself a stainless 4 5/8s super blackhawk. Probably not a better working gun made anywhere. Accurate, reliable and durable.

I just threw up in my mouth a bit. Polymer single action revolver...I hope for all that's still retaining some semblance of American tradition that it never happens. Aside from that, to me, if the small amount of weight savings in that big of an issue if it's to be carried, perhaps another American tradition should be brought back - tough it out. It's ounces not pounds! Use a GOOD holster and belt and even a Redhawk can seemingly disappear and be carried with ease and comfort. And while I may be way out in left field on this part, if you have a gun for carry use and are that concerned about "marring" it...you either don't carry it or carry it, let it achieve it's purpose it was bought for. Be like buying a wrench and worrying about it getting scratched.

  I can cut & paste too. ;)

I had a old 3 screw Black hawk in 357 mag. 4 5/8 in barrel  that my uncle carried on his farm for years ..when I traded it from him the blueing was worn off the grips where worn ..from being carried.
I carried the the gun in the same fashion for a couple of years till a fellow approached me ..wanting to restore it ,,yada ,yada I traded it to him fora couple of handguns ..or something or another..
I then purchased a Blackhawk 357 50th annv. model to replace the well worn Blackhawk...but I just bring myself to drag that beautiful revolver to the know abuse....

I understand how some Single Action purist would feel...that is understandable...Its hard to warm up to a polymer handgun for most people..and that type of gun would full fill its duty..being carried in ruff harsh conditions ...rain ,snow , dirt mud...and such ...and be dependable....and be several ounces off the hip...and maybe ..lighter on the wallet

And I think Ruger should chamber there first production polymer single action in 10mm....(BlkHawk73 you may need a aspirin)  ;)

And then in 45acp, and the rest of the calibers..

Ruger Vaquero Talo Exclusive Birds Head Stainless 45 ACP 3.75"
