I had a old 3 screw Black hawk in 357 mag. 4 5/8 in barrel that my uncle carried on his farm for years ..when I traded it from him the blueing was worn off the grips where worn ..from being carried.
I carried the the gun in the same fashion for a couple of years till a fellow approached me ..wanting to restore it ,,yada ,yada I traded it to him fora couple of handguns ..or something or another..
I then purchased a Blackhawk 357 50th annv. model to replace the well worn Blackhawk...but I just bring myself to drag that beautiful revolver to the know abuse....
I understand how some Single Action purist would feel...that is understandable...Its hard to warm up to a polymer handgun for most people..and that type of gun would full fill its duty..being carried in ruff harsh conditions ...rain ,snow , dirt mud...and such ...and be dependable....and be several ounces off the hip...and maybe ..lighter on the wallet
