I recently bought a set of Pietta 1860 Colt Sheriff Models and converted them to cartridge.

Wow those came out beautifull. Did you cut the loading gate and refinish them yourself?

Yes I hand filed the first loading gate...took three hours!

The second one met my die grinder........took 20 minutes!... ;D

I "spot" heated the area with a very fine tip on my OX welder and dabbed cold blue to simulate case coloring as best as I could. The pictures do not do it justice. Came out superb!
