Adult size stock for CZ Scout??
« on: May 08, 2011, 01:08:25 PM »
My 13 yr old has grown out of the youth stock on his CZ Scout.

I'm assuming the action is the same as the full size .22 CZs but wanted to check with those who know better.

Could I get an adult size CZ 22 rifle stock to fit the Scout?  I'd expect the barrel channel might not match perfectly but that wouldn't be a big deal.

I'll email CS USA but I figured folks here might know.

Its such a solidly built gun.

thanks

Far as I know, the Scout will go into any 452 stock. However, all other 452s use two screws to secure the action to the stock, while the scout only uses one. You will have to fill (or just leave blank) the other hole in any other style of stock. The other two screws in the trigger guard are wood screws.

It would probably be easier and cheaper to just add a 1" pad to the original stock to bring it to ~13" LOP.

Do a search for "Scout" over on RimfireCentral and you'll find a ton of info on custom scouts, including stock swaps.

check www.rimfirecentral.com they got a HUGE CZ forum.  I swore i read on there, some guys were buying scouts and putting adult stocks on for a lightweight squirrel rig.  I got one scoped for my son and its a tack driver like my 452FS.

Before the 16" american model came out, a friend of mine who is a huge Cz fan was doing just that.  Bought an american stock and mounted the rifle in it.  all of the 452's mount the same way.  you may need to get some harware to fill stock holes depending on the model.  The trigger guard and mag housing my not be the same on all the stocks.  I remember that Johnathan's scout had a couple unfilled holes in the trigger guard area.  Something that did not bother him but would drive me nuts till I got the correct parts and made the gun look as good as it shoots.

The trigger guard and mag housing my not be the same on all the stocks.

The trigger guard and mag housing is the same on all .22lr/HM2 452s.

The magnums use two different hole spacings on the guards; to fit either their plastic or steel mag housing (they've been made with both).

I believe someone over on RFC put an American stock on his scout... It looked really good if I remember correctly.
