Customer Service

Hi all, started this in December, just now able to finish the tale. I have an 80's era frame, have multiple barrels. Recently purchased a used 22LR barrel, would not fire.(have a 22Mag, it works fine-both rimfire obviously). Previously had a similar problem with a used 223 barrel, called TC, sent me a split bolt assly to replace the one piece one, problem fixed). This time, was told to send it in, TC sent me a return authorization with FEDEX(prepaid)Sent gun to S&W on Oct 4,2011. After hearing nothing, called in Mid December, they could tell me it had arrived-no further info.  Called Jan 2, first person forward to TC person(I think), that person tried to forward to actual gunsmith-forward dropped off.(time invested, about 20 min listening to musak). Jan 5, called again, first answerer forwarded again, second person(TC I think) was going to forward to gunsmith, but I stopped them, said I was cut off last time. He  then said he would send a "runner" and would return my call, and he agreed that they had the gun a long time.  Jan 12, wife recieved message that they would be getting to the gun "next week". On Jan 17, received the gun.  Enclosed statement said "replaced bolt", and "replaced mainspring", there was no charge.  Also, handwritten note enclosed said not to use "aftermarket hammer extensions, it will weaken hammer spring and cause light primer hits".  Haven't tried the 22 barrel yet, to cold and snowy in the UP of MI just now, to see if it works.
In summary, about 3 1/2 months, but appeared to take about a day after they started the job.
also, asked about the "easy release mod" since they had the gun for so long anyway and was told that the custom shop wasn't open yet from the move, so couldn't do that.
End of story..

I had to return my TC frame recently to install a new rimfire firing pin and spring. Turn around was very fast (less than 10 days including shipping time).
