I recently sent to Ruger for repair a GP100 that was 23 years old (according to the SN) and that I had purchased used some years back. The last time I was cleaning it, I took the trigger group out (as I have done many times) and the cylinder latch came off. In an attempt to get it back in, I for some unknown reason decided to pull the trigger and the transfer bar came loose. At this point I cut my losses and sent the revolver to Ruger with a note about what was wrong and how it happened. About a week later, I get the repaired revolver back at no charge in a sturdy Ruger box and with an owner's manual. That was indeed great service.
