Duff and the journalists at VT do alot of research, they back up what they say quite well with references. I can't say they are batting 1000, but they're well over 500.
.TM7

What are you referring to on them getting things right?  Did they get the “Breaking News: “Bin Laden” Heroes Probably Murdered to Keep Them Quiet” story right where they claim that “31 NATO troops, 20 of them Navy Seals from the Osama bin Laden operation died in what is reported as a helicopter crash in Afghanistan.  The chances of this story being true is almost nil.  The chances of this being a staged coverup is over 80%.  We believe these people were murdered to silence them.”?  Maybe Duff should visit a bar outside Little Creek VA and toss that idea into the crowd and see what the reaction is.

Duff and Veterans Today of course have the right to say what they want.  Everyone else has the right and indeed the duty to denounce it as the hate fueled nonsense it is.  I have more respect for the Klan and white supremacists, they at least have the honesty to serve their beliefs up unvarnished, they don’t soft-serve them or make an attempt to disguise them behind hallowed symbols and institutions.

Let’s not sugar coat it or suggest that their first amendment right means they can state their ridiculous views unchallenged.  Duff and his kind are a hate fueled belief system in a vain search for proof.  They aren’t selling “alternative news”, they are selling an alternative reality, an alternative to the scientific method, an alternative to discussing and judging individuals and nations fairly on their actions and in the end an alternative to the American way of life.

No, I haven't, but I have heard the saying;  "if your parents didn't have children, you won't either." :P

Yep, but you can't pick your relatives, while you can, and do, pick your friends.  You can tell alot about a man by the company he keeps.

WOW !  SEAL team 6 is angry because the dolt in the oval office exposed their unit activities..  Unit names & missions are generally kept secret..and as far as the individual's names..they are kept VERY secret..just to protect their families..
..But what many current duty field grade officers cannot dig up..Duff already knows.  He knows the names of SEAL Team 6 members...and not only that, but he knows exactly which ones were on the Bin Laden operation..
Either that, or he's handing us a load of BS..you choose..

..And poor old Jesse..  A great warrior at one time, but he has led a rough life..maybe slapped alongsidse his head a couple times too many.  Hardly anybody takes him serious anymore.

PS:  Looks like Nuke41 is right, this gang doesn't deal in "alternative news".. they deal in "alternative reality"...

Something I have heard.  The special Operations people are not real happy about this guy, and a few others.   They have gotten out ot the service, and written books about the operations, and the things they do.  This is stuff that does not need to be talked about, it helps the enemy to get an idea on what to expect.  Gives the enemy a means to build better defenses against our troops.

To me, him writing his book borders on being treasonous.  Rog

Same here Rog!
And I'm surprised this Ugh! Dolphin.........oops! Seal, hasn't broken both arms and wore out 100 mirrors patting himself on the back and looking at his own reflection! He mentions taking pleasure in killing and says he was LUCKY to have the importunity.(Quote) The number is not important to me. I only wish I had killed more. Not for bragging rights, but because I believe the world is a better place without savages out there taking American lives.I loved what I did. I still do.

I'm sure he had good skills as a rifleman! I knew many in the Army. Most of us that grew up on farms were good with firearms. We took great pleasure in killing meat for the table.
Most don't take pleasure taking the life of another human.Even when necessary. This guy brag's about it?

He says I'm still a bit uncomfortable with the idea of publishing my life story.(Yea right).

One thing I know first hand about the military.........The leaders love to spread BS to make themselves look good.Always have and always will.!I have seen it in every unit I served with.

When the M14 came out, we switched to it from the old WW2 M1.We had to qualify with it, as we did with the M1.We had people in our Infantry company  that couldn't hit the side of the proverbial barn with it.Everyone qualified! ::) I qualified Expert.........Say's so right on my Discharge. I was pretty good with the M1 and only shot Sharpshooter. Truthfully I prob. fired Marksman with the M14. Just enough to qualify. The Navy say's this guy had 160 kills as a sniper ::) Divide that by 4 and multiply by 2.

Not saying snipers aren't needed in combat!I just think the job should stay on the battlefield and not brought home!

Not to be petty....but the expert award must be on your DD214, rather than your discharge..at least that's how mine is..

BTW; I may sound like a heretic to some, but I very much preferred the M14 over the M1..which did you prefer ?

Since most who have never been in the military wouldn't know what a dd214 was, I just used Discharge .
Back when I served, the Army was three active and three inactive. dd214 was after 3, and the final paper came after 6. We were issued some of the first M14's used, and they were junk. The 308 is a great round, and I hear they were better later. Not sure who made the first ones we used, but we had lots of mechanical glitches with them.

I was shooting the national match course while the M14 was king. There were still a few hold outs mostly reservists and civilians shooting M1s. They really didn't have a chance.

NW;
Gotcha...easier to say discharge than having to explain DD214..
'''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''
  NW & Bilmac;
In 1955-57 I used the M1..1962-65 I used the M14..I only had one small problem, when my front sight shot loose (thankfully, during a practice session)..armorer snugged it up and I didn't even have to realign it..went on to shoot expert.
''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''
The M1 had a long, rather heavy operating rod while the M14 had a short "poppit piston"..I always felt the elimination of the extra weight slamming back, helped slightly for retaining sight picture.  The .308 is shorter than the 30/06 and I believe, was developed so as to accomodate the poppit piston.
Then too, the detatchable magazine beat the old M1 spring clips to pieces.

Chris Kyle has my respect.  For whatever sequence of events... he found himself in a far away stink hole  with an ugly job to do and appears he was very good at his job.

All men and women of the military, who put their life on the line, or otherwise contributes to keeping Americans free has my respect...period.  May they enjoy their hard earned freedom or rest in peace.

The 14 was a real good one, but I'm glad I didn't have to lug one around in the jungle. The 16 was fine where you could only see 10 yards.

Anyway, I see the Lew Rockwell people came out and gave Kyle a big thumbs down on his ghost written book,,,stating he's part of the problem.....

And some quotes from the link you posted:
“None of the American military personnel whose lives were wasted in Iraq had to die there, because none of them had any legitimate reason to be there”.
“In one of her occasional contributions to Kyle’s book, his wife Taya rebukes people....the trait she describes isn’t empathy; it’s a variation on the kind of pre-emptive self-pity described by Hannah Arendt in her study “Eichmann in Jerusalem”.
“Referring to those who killed on behalf of the Third Reich, Arendt observed:…..Kyle’s memoir is remarkable chiefly for the complete absence of the kind of moral anguish Arendt describes among the SS.”

Grigg’s “article” is nothing more than an anti-US and anti-military rant directed at a single US serviceman.

Nuke...quit being antisemetic...and defending nazi SS.. That the Nazi were just doing their job and duty.  Kyle and the USA had no business being in Iracq....his uncanny zeal for doing his job is noted; I appreciate his thoughts on protecting our guys with his rifle, but there is something wrong with this guy and you, when you do not acknowledge that  (and consider Iracquis as lessor species on the racial totem pole) were just protecting themselves, their country, or their lives form unecessary brutal occupiers. His is not a job I would want or do....but it takes all kinds to make the world go around...

I never said that the Iraqi’s were a lessor species.  I went where I was told and I followed and executed my orders to the best of my ability.  When placed in an “us or them” situation I always voted for us, and FYI for you, I served in Bosnia and Kosovo defending Muslims.  As to our line of work, it’s clear you’ve never served your country in any capacity.
Anyone that wants to compare US servicemen to the Nazi SS is free to visit a VFW hall on a Saturday night to share their opinions.  I’d recommend making an appointment ahead of time with an oral surgeon for the morning afterward.

I your cited article I see old Lew is questioning Kyle's courage..read the introductory line.
There's an old adage which says, "you have no right to judge me if you haven't walked in my shoes (combat boots)".
We would perhaps better understand better if you will list where Lew Rockwell served in combat...and under what circumstances Lew Rockwell served as a sniper.  If he did both those things, then hge perhaps has room to criticize Kyle.
     Short of that..he's nothing but a pygmy..chopping at a giant's toe nails..

TM - I tried to stay out of this exchange, between you and Nuke, but when you intentionally mis-state facts, I feel the need to speak up.  I know that you never served "our country", because you said so, in an exchange with me in the "Freakin' IDJITS" thread.  That comment was deleted, by the moderator, because I called you on your claim to have "graduated" from a "prestigious military college which is over 200 years old".  How did I know, because you couldn't even answer a common question, known to all grads of that academy.  You may have served "your" country, but unfortunately, not our country.

Your posting of the Y-Tube video:  "It's a trick, we always use it",  seems to be the only defense you have, regarding your anti-Semiticism.  Your actions(posts) speak louder than your words.  To paraphrase the words of Shakespeare, "Me thinks thou doth protest too much" regarding your known anti-Semiticism.

Repeating a lie, over and over again, doesn't make it the truth.
