Is the 22 magnum enough gun to hunt turkey with?  Thinking of getting one, but not sure about putting the money into a 22 mag or going with the 223.  Help. :?

Not legal in this state---so couldn't tell you.  Shotgun only here.

Well---and archery too.

I have taken turkeys with .20 and .25 caliber air rifles and a .22 WMR and all work just fine.  The air rifles worked out to 50(+) yards and the .22 mag. out to 100 or more.  Just depends on your ability and the turkey(the shot angle).  Lawdog

Works beautifully where legal. Hasn't been legal here in Bama in a lot of years and the change is the reason I sold my old Savage O/U .22 Mag. and 20 ga. 3".
