What are the Federal Police Doing in America

That makes sense, CBP sure is an eating crowd, I would expect them to descend on a Dunkin Donuts and leave it in ruin upon departure.  Only group of LE that it would be worse to be trapped in Donner Pass with winter setting in with is the BoP guys, those prison guards would eat a dead horse!

Legally, the Federal government nor any of it's agencies employ "Police Officers".  They employ  "agents" or "officers" that have the powers of "Police Officers", their "legal" status as a "Police Officer" in your state is covered by state law.

"Federal Police" officers are the old Federal Protective Officers, they are responsible for securing Federal property and office buildings.  If you go to any location that has a large Federal building, you will see these guys patrolling the premises.

Cuts - Your ID might say; "Police Officer", but I submit, you are legally not a police officer, per say, since the Federal government doesn't have that power.  You might be an officer of the law that is entitled to protect Federal property, and enforce Federal Law on Federal property, and sometimes in certain states, state law, but "Police powers" are reserved to the states.  If you have "Police" powers, it is because the law in the state where you work, has decreed that you have "police powers", not simply because the Federal government says your a police officer. 
Read the 10th Amendment, and your state law regarding the definition of "Police & Peace Officers".

In essence, I agree with you. In reality though, both state and federal courts recognize me as a "police officer" when I give testimony, so the point is moot. This issue has actually been brought up by defense lawyers during my career........they lost.

What it is, is simply "double speak" on the part of the government, much like O'boys little trick with birth control/abortion and the churches. But the fact remains........there is no federal agency called "Federal Police" that I can find. However the Fed does indeed utilize and employ police officers.

The federal police are something that the Obama administration dreamed up.Most of the supervisors of what we previously called civil defense officers became the new federal police.Each area of the country has one or more.They are all issued new vehicles to drive with the necessary lights sirens weapons and ect.Several branches of federal law enforcement agents were reassigned to the title of federal police I suspect to give the appearence of it being merely a new name, and not a new agency.If you are a student of history you should remember that a goverment body in Europe established a similar police force refered to as the brown shirts.his administration has also changed the laws allowing them to use federal troops aginst the citizents of this country.Why do we need this new agency, and what is there purpose that was not already covered by an existing federal agency is a question that we should all ask our legisators.

Can you provide us a link to this new agency, or news articles regarding it? I'm really curious because I work for the fed and have never heard of this, nor have I been able to find any information regarding it in recent searches. I don't know, maybe you are privy to info we can't access?
