LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The man who has been arrested 15 times on DUI charges appeared before a judge Friday and now Rickie Lee Walker, Jr. is behind bars.
Walker was in court on a motion that he be arrested after missing his last court appearance.
He was supposed to be in court Wednesday for a probation revocation hearing but didn't show up. Instead, his attorney said he had checked himself into a rehab facility.
Judge Brian Edwards said earlier this week he didn't buy and ordered Walker to appear in his court today.
The prosecutor asked for the court to place further restrictions on Walker since he received two additional DUI arrests while on probation on a drug charge. She also referred to the WHAS11 report in which Walker was caught driving without a license.
The judge decided to issue a bench warrant in the case, placing him under a $5,000 bond and placed Walker under house arrest until his next court date.
“I find it coincidental at best that you enter an inpatient facility the day before the hearing is set, when the motion has been pending since November. This is the second time you didn't show up when you were supposed to show up Mr. Walker,” Judge Edwards said.
A probation revocation hearing has been scheduled for February 22.
