I had a Super 14" 44 Magnum changed to 445 Super Magnum...

I you are shooting the 445 to its potential, you will know if the primer ignited or not...

Recoil is managable, but very noticable...

I don't shoot mine much at all, but the 44 Magnum may have been the most inaccurate Contender barrel that I owned. thus the rechamber...

Trail Boss makes it a bit more fun to shoot...

Good-luck...BCB

Like Ken said use Trail boss and it will be a fun barrel I have one in 444 marlin recoil is mild and muzzle blast is low I shoot a 240 grn xp with 14 grns trail boss and at 75 yrds holds a good group this is the recomended load from a Hodgdon teck but you can go up more I think max for this bullet is close to 20 grns look on their web site under trail boss and it will tell you how to figure the loads.

Recoil not bad at all. One of the best deer rounds out there.

Why ream it to 445SM and then shoot Trail Boss in it?

Makes no sense to me, but what do I know.

Why ream it to 445SM and then shoot Trail Boss in it?

Makes no sense to me, but what do I know.

I do it...

I can get near 1000 fps using a 44-250-K...

In the 44 I can only get about 750 fps...

Takes 2.5 grains more powder to get the extra 250 fps...

Recoil is minimal and 1000 fps isn't shabby for a 265 grain boolit...

Just enjoyable to shoot...

The 445 SM can be loaded down to 44 Magnum ballistics, BUT not the other way around...

One of the advantages of the 445 SM...
